I waited for a month, then they called me to assure that I was still in the running, and _then_ they disappeared. somedudenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8964719845369935777.post-66605747174984600632013-12-15T06:14:08.486-05:002013-12-15T06:14:08.486-05:00The worst are the ones that never send you anythin...The worst are the ones that never send you anything after the on-site interview. For the first month you feel really hopeful. Then for the second month you hope that the first candidate will reject after negotiations and they'll call you and that's why you don't have a rejection yet. Then afterwards you feel like shit because you must have been really bad if they didn't even bother writing you a rejection form letter. Sigh...uncle samnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8964719845369935777.post-72925137601762816272013-12-14T21:25:33.564-05:002013-12-14T21:25:33.564-05:00Interesting. I wonder if the department used it when looking for temporary positions needed for professors on sabbatical and for new tenure-track positions after that was published. They would have had two or three chances at least in the few years after that publication. However, remember our earlier admonition: e-mail is not private."<br /><br />P.s. also very knowledgeable about our current privacy standards!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
