There ...I went to grad school at a top tier school. There were a handful of people who had taken a year (or more) off. In my mind, the ones who took some time off and worked in an industrial setting were better at time management and just "getting the job done" than the others who hadn't. <br /><br />I didn't have my act together going into graduate school, but somehow made it through. As I entered the work force (startup company after graduation) I quickly realized the value of separating work from not work.
