Bubble, anyone?: So what's the deal with all of these Chinese universities? I really get the feeling that they're just hiring people willy-nilly. Check out this ad from "East China University of Science and Technology" -- they're hiring folks for "biomolecular, bioprocess, bioproduct and biosystems engineering" for the State Key Laboratory of Bioreactor Engineering. I have no idea what that means, but it smells awfully "omics" to me.
Small college of the week: Fort Hays State University (Hays, KS, student population: 8,500 - SA-LUTE!) is looking for a tenure-track position in physical, general education and entry-level chemistry courses. Sounds like fun to me, especially if you'd like to spend some time in (as it's called) Hays, America.
