Total number of ads: 8

Below the bar: The National University of Ireland, Galway is looking for a lecturer in inorganic chemistry (below the bar). That apparently is equivalent to an assistant professor position; doesn't look like it pays too badly.
St. Paul, MN: The Univesity of Minnesota is looking for an assistant professor of food technology, with a specialty in food chemistry (cereal chemistry and technology.)
Omaha, NE: You could hang out with Warren Buffett and such if you became the University of Nebraska College of Pharmacy's director of the Center for Drug Delivery and Nanomedicine. Ph.D. and strong research program track record desired
Small college of the week: Goshen College (Elkhart, IN, student population: 971, SA-LUTE!) is looking for a one-semester visiting professor of biochemistry and organic chemistry. You could hang out with the Amish (or the Mennonites.)
Altoona, PA: Penn State - Altoona is looking for a one-year visiting professor of chemistry.

If I had to spend some time in the Midwest, Omaha was surprisingly pleasant! There was a surprising amount of local music and a vibrant night life.
ReplyDeleteLocal customs are peculiar. It is rather humorous to see a full bar, watching a band without even nodding their head to the music. As the friend I was visiting put it, they are too polite to mosh. It certainly has it's charm, along with some of the most spectacular pot holes I have ever seen.
