The Chemistry department is thriving and growing as supported by student demand and the University’s strategic plan. In the last few years, the number of chemistry students has increased 60% and typically 20-25 students graduate with a chemistry major each year. Recent graduates have been accepted to excellent chemistry graduate schools (for example, Notre Dame and Carnegie Mellon), medical schools (for example, University of Washington, University of Pennsylvania, and Boston University), in addition to finding employment opportunities directly after graduation.I think it is interesting to note that the school puts graduating people to the workforce at the bottom of the list, as opposed to the top. Since when did college become advanced middle school?
