Especially in an El Nino year after Jan-Feb have been wetter than normal bringing about even greater spring burst of flowers even in the near by desert areas/canyons.
Is the reason you forget SD blue skies due to observations from approximately late April till July along the coast looking up anytime before noon you are highly likely to see only the "June Gloom" layer?
biotechtoreader I used to actually hear some people complain about how boring the SD weather was, usually Easterners, but after leaving there my grievance has been how much I wish they could share it some days.
Anon 3/16 12:35PM here... I was an East Coast transplant; while I never thought the weather boring, I did think it was kind of weird that it never changed. (A colleague: "we don't have weather, we have climate.") I was stunned, though, that there were people who complained about how cold it got in the winter--including some refugees from colder climates like Minnesota.
The weather in San Diego changes, it's just subtle: we have a green season and a brown season.
Prior to moving to SD, from the Great White North, I do recall being concerned that no seasons would be dull. A friend pointed out "if everyday is perfect, what is there to complain about?".
looks like Blogger doesn't work with anonymous comments from Chrome browsers at the moment - works in Microsoft Edge, or from Chrome with a Blogger account - sorry! CJ 3/21/20

ReplyDeleteActually, most months in San Diego are lovely. I spent a little over two years there, and I can't pick a month I didn't like.
ReplyDeleteLast few Augusts/Septembers have been a little too hot: in the 90s just 5 miles inland most days.
DeleteTo be fair, very hard to complain about weather in San Diego.
No wonder then that Mitt Romney has 9 car garage!!!

I don't think "brown season" is going to make it into the Chamber of Commerce brochures.
DeleteSan Diego was indeed lovely and very pleasant, and the ACS meeting very busy but fun too. Good to see you CJ!
