A list of small, useful things (links):
- Ash on "Why the world needs more Leo Szilards"
- I figure the cooking geeks among readers would enjoy this post on probe thermometers.
- I regret to admit the grumping around the photochemistry stuff on Derek's blog.
- John is back! And talks about Big Bread Clip (I had no idea.)
- Carmen, on new science around dyes and plants.
- "Why it might be a good time to start a career in science"
- snort
- a slightly more substantive response from me (slightly)
- The latest from "Stellen für Chemiker"
- Interesting UK chemical education blog
- "a tetrahedral metal cluster with a septet spin state"
Again, an open invitation to all interested in writing a blog, a hobby that will bring you millions thousands hundreds tens of dollars joy and happiness. Send me a link to your post, and I'd be happy to put it up.
Oh, and have a great weekend!
Leo Szilard was an amazing man.
ReplyDeleteFloyd Paxton wouldn't be able to produce his prototype bread clip today because he would not be allowed to use a pen knife on the plane.
Wow, it didn't take long for sour comments on In The Pipeline to precipitate. I don't know why someone would paint MacMillan students with the same brush. I never knew anyone from that group, but I know one of them through his publications and his very popular chemistry blog that sadly lays dormant today... many of you would have read it I am sure. It would be very wrong to call that person "indoctrinated" or imply he knows little beyond the group chemistry, and it should go without saying that there are many other fine chemists from the MacMillan group.
