A few of the articles from this week's issue of Chemical and Engineering News:
- Cover: Luis Echegoyen, incoming ACS President (by Sophie L. Rovner)
- "MOFs neutralize nerve agents without needing liquid water" (by Mitch Jacoby)
- Ball milling your redox reaction? Why not? (by Leigh Krietsch Boerner)
- Melinta declares bankruptcy (by Ryan Cross)
- I'm there - antibiotics are a market failure, it's time for the US government to buy and stockpile antibiotics, kind of like nuclear weapons, but not
- "How the periodic table can help you organize your career" (by ACS Careers)
I'm surprised the idea of ball-milling an organic reaction with no solvent hasn't been developed further. There were examples in the literature when I was in grad school 20 years ago.
