The Albert Einstein College of Medicine seeks full-time synthetic organic chemists. The Chemical Synthesis Core plans, designs and synthesizes molecules for drug discovery and research in biomedicine. Core synthetic organic chemists: 1) establish and maintain chemical synthesis collaborations with faculty at Einstein; 2) actively contribute to grant writing and the generation of supporting results; 3) supply synthetic products with experimental documentation and compound characterization suitable for publication; and 4) fulfill administrative duties for facility management, including ordering, billing and safety standards.
Successful applicants will have a Ph.D. degree in Organic Chemistry or related experience in synthetic chemistry. Postdoctoral experience is desirable but not essential. Applicants must be familiar with multistep synthesis and be able to scale reactions from milligram to gram quantities. Working knowledge of a broad range of chemical reactions is desired.
