There are ~8 of us ChEs over at the future PI slack google sheet (you must join the future PI slack to find the link). Come join and we can keep better track of which schools are moving when.
Anyone has news on chemE of UPenn, Dartmounth, Tufts, Carnigie Mellon, Rochester and Rice? Thanks! I got contact for RL by Carnigie Mellon early Nov but no news since then
OP here: ChemE, since this is ChemE chat thread. What department were you thinking of? I think their Chem dept requests letters upon submission but I am not entirely sure.
UIUC chemE Ad says they'll request RL at a later stage, so I think it is a good sign (I didnot get). I'd like to contribute a data point for UIUC MSE, they are inviting zoom. (I agree that in this thread, the default is chemE, but just hope to keep the thread active)
There is a distinct lack of resources for MSE and ChemE as compared to chemistry in terms of organization and job tracking. I applied to universities in all three departments because there's so much overlap between them when you're doing polymer stuff. Somewhat frustrating/baffling to me that biochem/bio stuff is included in the chemistry faculty listing but polymer focused MSE/ChemE is not.
I got the same rejection, but they were the only school to bother sending a rejection at least. Some places I was waiting to hear back only to learn that they've already made campus invites via their seminar schedules online. At least princeton let's us know!
Which position, the Quantum Science (JPF03218) or open (JPF03273)? I think it might be a thing with their system. The former was posted in April saying "Candidates applying by July 31. 2022 will be given full consideration", but at the end of each month it updated the most recent review date (Dec. 30th currently). So I think it doesn't mean anything. Maybe they have already interviewed people or maybe they haven't started reviewing. In any case, I haven't heard from either position.
I meant the open position. I haven't heard anything as well and there are no upcoming talks scheduled on their calendar, so if they have released the short list its not public yet.
looks like Blogger doesn't work with anonymous comments from Chrome browsers at the moment - works in Microsoft Edge, or from Chrome with a Blogger account - sorry! CJ 3/21/20
So... anyone heard anything? I just realized there was an open thread for this too!
ReplyDeleteI did not know this thread either, just saw from chemistry!
