CJ: The nonsense that is going on at political level in DC (government shutdown) had me thinking if it is wise idea to have some coverage on this matter that impacts chemists. Because many chemists after the big recession has lost their regular job and has been transformed to contract employees both at the government and in private companies. I am hearing that is you are a contract employee with the government, you will be not paid for the past work even after the government opens. Something is stinking here and the ACS ought to find out what is going on?
ReplyDeleteHouse and Senate have passed a bill that will ensure federal workers receive any back pay they are entitled to over the past weeks of govt. shutdown. The White House have signaled that Trump will sign the bill.
DeleteThey may have passed a bill to pay furloughed government workers, but that won't necessarily help people that work for government contractors.
