June unemployment rate was 11.1%

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Thursday that the national employment rate is 11.1%, and nonfarm payroll employment rose by 4.8 million in June.

The broader U6 measurement of unemployment was 18.0%.

The chemical manufacturing subsector saw a rise in positions from 830400 to 832900, a drop of 31000 positions (seasonally adjusted).

The unemployment rate of college graduates was 6.9% for June 2020, while by contrast the unemployment rate for people without a high school diploma was 16.6%.
