The chemist will lead projects for the electronic materials business and serve customers in markets including aviation, aerospace, and automotive. The chemist will:
- Develop new innovative silicone RTV products.
- Provide continuous improvement for production of existing products.
- Strengthen the supply chain for raw materials needed to produce existing products.
What We Offer: Base Pay Range: $107,000 - $156,750
Qualifications:
The following are required for the role
- This position is subject to the ITAR regulations. All candidates must be eligible to work on ITAR projects.
- PhD in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering or relevant physical science with 5+ years of industrial R&D experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely in a chemical laboratory and chemical manufacturing setting. Ability to identify and mitigate safety risks.
- Demonstrated understanding of polymer structure–property relationships and the ability to design new chemical formulations based on the material requirements.
The following are preferred for this role
- Hands-on knowledge of silicone chemistry and formulation of silicone products.
- Hands on knowledge of characterization and formulation with silicone polymers, particulate fillers and additives.
- Experience translating products from laboratory scale to pilot and production scale.
- Experience applying basic statistics, experimental design, and data analysis (Design of Experiments) to new product development. Familiarity with software like Design Expert® or Minitab®.
- Application of AI to organize complex data, understand trends and solve technical problems.
