Woburn, MA: Here we are again, with an Organix postdoctoral position. Pay 40-48k.
Livermore, CA: Postdoctoral position at Sandia National Labs in laser spectroscopy.
A broader look: Monster, Careerbuilder, Indeed and USAjobs show (respectively) 261, 725, 2,620 and 12 positions for the search term "chemist." LinkedIn shows 152 positions for the job title "chemist", with 6 for "research chemist", 18 for "analytical chemist" and 1 for "organic chemist."
"Organix offers an excellent salary..."
ReplyDeleteThe suggested pay range is more like average. I think it's shameful that companies that may profit from government grants can get away with hiring a (temporary) postdoc to complete the work. At least academic institutions pretend that it is an educational experience (thus justifying the low pay)
"Applications should include a resume, a description of experience, reaction scheme summaries, three references, expected salary, and visa status."
Reaction scheme summaries? We will pay you postdoc salary, but you have to come with the appropriate skills and training to do exactly what we want you to do.
