- Heterogeneous Catalysis Scientist (Ph.D., industry experience not required)
- Chemical Catalysis Scientist (Ph.D., 5+ years industry experience desired.)
(You know how I know that we're not there yet with synthetic chemistry positions in the United States? "Postdoctoral experience strongly recommended" for that Pfizer position. Of course, Pfizer can pretty much name its price.)
I'm pretty sure I saw that Pfizer PhD 5+ year posting this time last year, either someone quit/was fired in a hurry or they never filled that job.
ReplyDeleteIt will all be the same company soon enough...
ReplyDeletePflaxo or Glizer?
DeleteIt was posted last year, along with some other catalysis position. Needless to say I didn't get the position.
ReplyDelete@CJ how many people have applied for this Heterogenous Cat. Job?
ReplyDeleteI have no idea.
Delete"Postdoctoral experience strongly recommended" = At some companies this sometimes this means that there is a candidate in mind who is not legally authorized to work in the US. So a paper exercise is needed in order to discriminate against more experienced, more qualified BS/MS/PhD chemists who are legally authorized to work in the US. Hiring manager likely same nationality as candidate. Gotta keep that fresh grad STEM grad train rollin.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. In the interest of saving time by not responding to such adverts, it would be helpful to know if there are specific companies where this is a practice, or can be a practice.
