A handy project management flow chart
I was always a big fan of this flowchart growing up -- now that I'm a little older and I work in chemistry, here's my version.

1. HELPING CHEMISTS FIND JOBS IN A TOUGH MARKET. 2. TOWARDS A QUANTITATIVE UNDERSTANDING OF THE QUALITY OF THE CHEMISTRY JOB MARKET.
What's the job market like for chemists? Dude -- it's always bad.*
How bad is it? How the heck should I know? Quantifying the chemistry job market is what this blog is about. That, and helping chemists find jobs.

(*For the literal-minded, this is a joke. Mostly.)
Great chart!
ReplyDeleteBut where's the part that reads: "How many hours did you put into it?" --> Too many --> You poor bastard! --> back to work!
@See Arr Oh: That route is covered by the "Is it too slow" algorithim.
ReplyDelete@CJ: How about this algorithm? "Has it been done before?"-Y->"Is peer review crappy enough to allow publication?"-Y->"You lucky bastard!"
I'm going to totally steal this for my next presentation.
