1. HELPING CHEMISTS FIND JOBS IN A TOUGH MARKET. 2. TOWARDS A QUANTITATIVE UNDERSTANDING OF THE QUALITY OF THE CHEMISTRY JOB MARKET.
What's the job market like for chemists? Dude -- it's always bad.*
How bad is it? How the heck should I know? Quantifying the chemistry job market is what this blog is about. That, and helping chemists find jobs.

Wouldn't layoffs be called "Workforce Optimizations" on a resume for these guys??
ReplyDelete@CJ: You may be too young/regional to remember this, but Kenny Roger's Roasters had awesome cornbread. Plus, I thought their Chicken was better seasoned than Boston Market's. Pret-A-Mager?! That's sooo pretentious! Hey, it could be funnier...imagine if Kindler had been president of El Pollo Loco!
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, I can't wait for the next Pfizer Borg CEO to say "All your base are now belong to us!"
Note to CJ: Don't ever consider working at Pfizer.

ReplyDeleteThat's actually what I was thinking of, actually. My parents (God bless 'em, they're cheap) would take me and my sister out to KRR for our "meal out." Not too bad, actually -- I remember the garlic mashed potatoes most of all.
@CJ: I still remember the KRR jingle: "Kenny Rogers Roasters! It's the wood that makes it good!" (tongue-in-cheek nowadays) Plus the open-flame rotisserie ovens kept the KRR restaurants quite warm in the winter.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Kindler is aspiring to leave a trail of Pharma death and destruction like Fred Hassan!
thanks CJ. I needed a good laugh today. :-)
