1. HELPING CHEMISTS FIND JOBS IN A TOUGH MARKET. 2. TOWARDS A QUANTITATIVE UNDERSTANDING OF THE QUALITY OF THE CHEMISTRY JOB MARKET.
What's the job market like for chemists? Dude -- it's always bad.*
How bad is it? How the heck should I know? Quantifying the chemistry job market is what this blog is about. That, and helping chemists find jobs.

(*For the literal-minded, this is a joke. Mostly.)
Was it your goal to blog 5 times a week or did that just happen on its own? Heroic effort no matter what, thanks for writing.
ReplyDeleteHappened on its own, I guess. There's a real rhythm to the blog now (I hope); I get concerned that the blog is a bit monotonous because of it.
ReplyDeleteThat said, it makes it easy to organize my thoughts for the week.
Thank you, by the way -- that's very kind of you.
ReplyDeleteCJ: Here is wishing you a very happy 2012! I can say with honesty that during those time of full employment with major pharma, I had little or no time to blog. The work kept us all busy. Now, coming to the present I have more disposable time (still employed and thank my Lord!), as a matter of fact lot of time to cook and blog. Seems to me that you are in the same situation. Right? Thanks and wish you only the best!
ReplyDeleteWell done, CJ! And not in terms of meeting an arbitrary quota, but for sustained quality work.
ReplyDelete@CJ - Happy New Year, continued success for the blog and your family.
ReplyDeleteAs a side note, no less than 3 people from my social circle received good news on jobs / interviews in the last week. So 2012 is already looking up!
Happy New Year, CJ! Keep up the great work! I don't know how much longer I'll be holding onto my job (voluntarily or involuntarily)...hopefully 2012 will bring all of us new and exciting opportunities.
ReplyDeleteDamn, my neighbor's M-80s are loud!
