  14. Hi everyone,
The current thread format is not an efficient way to share status updates. I made a spreadsheet here:

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1in3HYdE5xbiLoAOMwkdL4_I-UkjJDXJctt9AaLdGPz0/edit#gid=0

Anyone can add anonymous comments. If you add new information as a comment, I will add it to the spreadsheet. I will start converting the information already in the open thread to this spreadsheet format.

    3. Would two or three lines enough if you send to everyone with whom you spoke?
Do you write Dr. XX, Prof XX or just their first name?

      Delete
    4. I think Dr./Prof/first name is a bit of a judgement call from situation to situation, but if I had a good conversation I usually go with first name. You want the faculty to see you as a colleague, and I have never been in a department where the faculty don't call each other by their first names. Dr./Prof. feels like a grad student move to me. I think two or three lines is appropriate. You want to thank them for taking the time to meet with you, say you enjoyed talking to them, and then say you hope to speak with them again soon. In the end it probably won't make much of a difference. Good luck!
