A good start

3 years ago today.

I'm on record saying that that I'd like to blog at least "until this unemployment thing comes around." (2nd to last paragraph) Considering that doesn't really look like it's going to happen anytime soon, I guess you all are stuck with me.

Thank you so much for reading, commenting, e-mailing, correcting me, critiquing me, Tweeting and linking.

  3. Yay! Happy Blogiversary!

Er, that's yay that you're still blogging, not yay that the job market still sucks. What are you going to do it if ever does pick up?

  4. Three cheers for three years!
I don't know how you keep it up day after day.
I certainly can't keep up with your pace and quality!

    Well done, CJ.

  9. Congratulations, CJ, and thank you for all of your efforts in staying on top of this job market. Your voice is hugely important in this community and, sadly, in this economy.

Here's to the job market improving - I'm sure you'd still have plenty to write about!

  10. When do we all get together to hand out the Chemjobber Award for Chemical Community Service (of which the first recipient would be CJ himself)?

  11. @wavefunction - That would be an awesome award. CJ would show up with a paper-bag over his head to protect his anonymity! What would the actual award look like?

  13. -What would the actual award look like?

One of many possible suggestions: A replica of Rodin's thinker gazing and mulling over a landscape strewn with bar and pie charts denoting the state of the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

  17. You've come a long way, sir. This feels like the cozy old pub of the chemical blogosphere, and you're Sam Malone.

  18. Thank you, everyone. You are very kind.

@James: No, no, I'm Cliff Clavin. "Eeectually, Sammy, the broader unemployment rate, as measured by the Bureau of Labor Statistics..."
