PerkinElmer Informatics/Spotfire has a fun periodic table application

Friend of the blog (and PerkinElmer Informatics marketing guy) Philip Skinner has passed along this really fun periodic table application to demo some of the features of Spotfire. For those of you who don't know, Spotfire is a program that helps chemists organize data (among other things); when I have seen people use it in the past, it feels like a database manager, like an Excel for molecules.

Go and check it out -- it's a lot of fun. A favorite little detail of mine is that for the more modern, newer elements, the "discoverer" picture changes from antique portraits to a logo of whatever organization owns the relevant particle accelerator!
