- Here's Sophie Rovner's short summary of the year in jobs and salaries -- the graphs tell the (unhappy) story of the year.
- Stephen Ritter covers that ozone/UV light adipic acid article; happy to see that the Rennovia expert tends to agree with me.
- Transitions within the American Chemical Society announced by Susan Ainsworth, including Kai Rossen, the new editor-in-chief of Organic Process Research and Development.
- Mitch Andre Garcia on the most cited papers of 2014.

"Campos Seijo succeeds Rudy M. Baum, who served as the magazine’s editor-in-chief from 2004 until his retirement in 2012 and who has been acting editor-in-chief since March."
ReplyDeleteWell, i see Maureen Rouhi got whitewashed out of CEN's royal procession list. Good luck, Campos Seijo! I'm sure whatever Rouhi did to be shouldered aside by the return of White Male Reality won't happen to you too.
For at least a year, that is.
God, those graphs are terrifying. Who would be a chemist these days?
ReplyDeleteI would have thought that the unemployment rate of ACS members understates the real figure due to survivor bias - most unemployed chemists can't afford the dues.
