Pros
Great vision for the company. Intrexon''s work across the biotech space is interesting and compelling, but lacks focus/direction.
Cons
Culture is non-existent (if you don't include consistent layoffs, lack of direction from upper-management, and no mobility). The only thing declining more quickly than Intrexon's stock price is it's prospects.
Advice to ManagementValue your employees, invest in HR and workplace benefits. Provide training and benefits that match industry standards. Stop treating employees as disposable.
Any comments or e-mails (to chemjobber@gmail.com) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Sounds like a beauty of a company. On a similar note, what's with all these companies in the Bay Area? I see a lot of them. I can't imagine how anyone can avoid being homeless there on a chemist's salary.
ReplyDeletePopular cult stock based on ropey technology and shadey press releases promising the world without providing details. In looking at patents, seems destined to fail, but they have a lot of $ so the show will go on for some time.
ReplyDeleteSimilar to dot-com bubble then? There are a lot of companies out there that pretty much bilk VC and SBIRs to pay their salaries but never deliver anything.
DeleteThey follow the dictum of W. C. Fields. "Never give a sucker an even break."
DeleteAhh, I wonder how many investors with this company also invested in Theranos...

Yep, love Glassdoor, probably find these same Pros and Cons for every company.
Well, vision without direction is fairly common.
