Unemployment rate at 8.5%, U6 unemployment at 15.2%.

Credit: Calculated Risk
Fresh electrons from the Bureau of Labor Statistics: the unemployment rate is down 0.1% to 8.5% for December. The broader U6 unemployment rate is down 0.4% to 15.2%. Apparently, the private sector employment numbers are pretty positive (200k); it will be interesting to see what the labor force participation numbers look like.

Good news? I hope so.

Thanks, as always, to Calculated Risk.
