Your 2018 presidential-elect candidates: Bonnie A. Charpentier and Willie E. May

Also in this week's C&EN, the selection of the 2018 president-elect candidates (article by Linda Wang):
At the ACS Council meeting, councilors selected two candidates for 2018 ACS president-elect: Bonnie A. Charpentier of Cytokinetics, Inc. and Willie E. May, recently retired from the National Institute of Standards & Technology.
Will be interesting to see their answers to the #chemjobs questionnaire this fall.

  1. I knew Willie May from my time at NIST. I don't know what his policy stances will be, but he's a super nice guy. Always smiling.

    1. Also not terribly effective. Granted, he had to deal with a hostile Congress, sequestration, and an indifferent Commerce Secretary, but he accomplished surprisingly little. A perfect fit for ACS!

  2. Don't wait for the fall rush, the candidates aren't going to change (much), so send them your questions now and see if they tell others the same answer to the same questions come August and September.
