[So I've been exercising regularly for a while now. Is it making my life better? Um, no. In the long run, it's worth it, but it has not provided me with an iota of joy. Sigh.]
Never mind that, though. Do you remember the NPR story on unemployed Ph.D. scientists, complete with its own unemployed Ph.D. analytical chemist?
Well, he's been hired. Great to hear.
Have a good weekend, everyone. I'm going to try to get some rest.
Thanks for the story, CJ. I missed that one.
ReplyDelete(as for exercise, try rock climbing)
Uh, I had a horrible week, complete with 22yo Aerotek recruiter calling me and asking: "So what do you enjoy about chemistry?".
ReplyDeleteExercising is not about you enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteBut your female partner enjoying the "fruits" of your exercise when copulating, e.g. a "tight body" vs a "nerdy blob."
God...take a hint from Baran, will you. Chemists can be sexy!
P.S.: While in grad school, I worked out diligently 2-4 hrs every day (weights, martial arts.) It's what kept me sane.
DeletePlus, no wife, no kids...those were the days!!
I was working out in grad school until I met my wife who forced me to stop. She kept squeezing my fat rolls and when we went to Chipotle, she told the waiter to put extra guacamole on my burito and then would whisper "more cushin for the pushin" into my ear. So I take exception to the 'nerdy blob' thing. It was my pet name before foreplay started.
DeleteLol baran is sexy??? Dude looks like a douche with that goatee.
