  4. Reminds me when I would get bottles of tetracene from TCI, they would always claim >95% purity, but by NMR I could clearly see 15-20% 5,12-dihydrotetracene. Thankfully you could wash it out with acetone, but still...

    1. TCI can be cavalier with their purity specs. I had bought (if I remember correctly) n-dodecyloxirane 98%+ from them that had actualy >10% of assorted isomers. Looks like their alpha olefin from which they made the stuff had some little branches in it - which they must have known full well but did not bother to disclose it to the customers
