  1. CJ: Is there any funding agency that funds research leading to "retraction" of paper or an experiment? Seems like we have reached an inflection point where it is ripe to be funded? Just curious!

    1. That's actually an interesting idea, e.g. an agency to fund bounties for retractions. It's hard to imagine that in this funding climate, but who knows?

  2. Given the budget just thrown out by the administration I wouldn't hold my breath for NIH, NSF, or DOE to start paying out for negative results just yet.

  3. I've read that menthol eye drops are a big thing in Japan and europe. Apparently they burn like all hell but they make your eye whites whiter than fresh snow. Not sure if there's a negative to using these long-term though; I feel my 20/20 vision is too important to go playing around with some eyedrops that sting the color out of your eyes...

    1. Have you ever had to cut rope with a knife? Particularly when one end of the rope was over the side of a boat, with something heavy attached to it?

    2. Look man, cutting ropes with knives is my specialty.
