Dewitos? Are you kidding me?

  1. Saddam Hussein would beg to differ. Eating Doritos and tending his indoor garden was the highlight of his sunset years in captivity.

    1. Yeah, no, the article didn't have any: http://time.com/3573045/doritos-flavored-mountain-dew-is-first-sign-of-impending-apocalypse/

  4. Hi CJ. Most of your posts are very educational but occasionally you publish nonsense like this that makes me want to unbookmark your website.

    As Anon points out, flavor chemistry is a real, legitimate business with real, legitimate chemists. As your website is dedicated to helping chemists find traditional and nontraditional career paths, a bit less cynicism would be appreciated.

      I agree 100%. And the article had no flavor chemistry content that I'm aware of. If you think I'm wrong, I'm happy to listen.

      When you think I publish nonsense, please feel free to e-mail me -- I am more than happy to listen: chemjobber@gmail.com

    2. Look at the big brain on Anon0916!!!

      Flavor Chem and Food/Beverage Science seem like the long lost crazy uncle of chemistry.
      And those jobs are insanely difficult to break in to as a MS/PhD chemist.

      Hence the sarcasm in my prior post;
      Most of us who slogged through grad school will have forgotten that Flavors are based in althochdeutschechemie

      I'd say the same if it were a textile chemistry position.
      How many people picked up the Color Index in grad school?

  5. I hope there's a pumpkin spice version for the holidays.
    Their next project should be to make Dr. Pepper flavored Doritos.
    What a time to be alive.
