A few of the academic positions posted on C&EN Jobs this past week:

Columbus, OH: Ohio State is hiring an assistant professor for "Inorganic Materials synthesis OR Materials Characterization." 

East Lansing, MI: Michigan State desires an assistant/associate professor with a specialty in drug discovery, chemical biology, or medicinal chemistry. 

Chicago, IL: The University of Chicago is looking for an assistant professor "in the area of Synthesis of Soft Materials." (What is that?)

New York City, NY: CUNY Hunter College wishes to hire a Ph.D. research associate to be its X-Ray facility manager.

Greeley, CO: The University of Northern Colorado is hiring an assistant/associate professor in chemical education. 

The List: As of September 28, the joint ChemBark/Chemjobber 2016 Faculty Jobs List stands at 301 positions.

    Typically when I think of "soft matter", it is something that involves polymers of some sort. So if you have polymer synthesis in your wheelhouse you are probably a candidate.
